Oh no you don't. You *second* my *upgrade* of your nomination.

Maybe we better check the Pirate's Code . . .

OK, I second FLIE's upgrade of my nomination. Or whatever. Can I also make a recommendation for another impressive award - the OOOBie (Often Out of the Box) award for pointandshoot? He and his somewhat lesser known but very much equally talented siblings* are heroes of mine.

*The two siblings are 2mccs and aberration

According to the Pirate Code, no new Awards may be created until raish creates a ribbon and krnodil rubs it on her head.

well, considering that raish's last ribbon was made of, um, brown stuff, I think I might abstain...

oh duh, I thought it was a request for a new award. I'm a little dumb today because Jeffrey's been slow with my cocktails.

Thanks Melethia for the kind compliment. I think my sister Marjory ( aberration) would agree when I say we are very fortunate to have Steve ( pointandshoot) as our brother and mentor. He first taught us both the fundamentals of photography and now pushes us to be more original and forget about the scores. And thank you Melethia for taking the time to make all of the many comments you have made on the challenges. You are a huge asset to this site.

Thanks Deb, that's really sweet of you and yes, I second everything my sister Marla ( 2mccs) said!

If you go to the Side Challenges and Tournaments section of the forums and then do an Advanced search in "subject" only for "OOBIE", you'll see all the award announcement threads that have been posted.

i would like to nominate gjumi for YAPPIE award for comment on my photo from "Old Ways" challenge -->

Comment by gjumi (02/06/2008 10:35:41 PM):

"There are so many twos: hair and the bush, hair and the plastic bag, the shadow on the ground and the vertical pose of the body, the bright field and the dark place where garbage is (I guess)... Does he drop the plastic bag or does he throw it? It's scary how dull the nature looks, so hungry... Luckily, the spring is around the corner, so there will be some green and flowers and what not, and, hopefully, this transporter will find new ways of processing garbage."

eta: ... and of course for all other comments he wrote, they are really cool!!

I'll second the nomination - he left an excellent comment on my "Old Ways" entry as well.

I have the inability to focus long enough to say something eloquent but this reminds me so much of a modern Atget.
