This is why I invested in a nice telephoto lense.

| The update is worth the read. I am astounded at what people will do, putting themselves in dangerous situations, for a photograph. This man paid the ultimate price. Oh, the perils of photography. A telephoto would have been a good choice here. |

| That was pure stupidity. Anyone in their right mind would know they were doing the wrong thing. Even the zoo staff were telling him. A reminder to us all that rules are set in place for a reason. |

Yeah, but too bad we have that rule about PPing the image yourself... :-D Hard to use Photoshop when you're armless and/or dead.

| I thought about the Darwin award too. But he is not eligible because it said he has a son. I think you have to die before you've had a chance to pass your stupid genes on to offspring in order to win. |

The story reminds me of a (very good) movie "Cat people" or something like that. Wasn't that in that movie that a cat tears off someone's arm from the shoulder? I guess the Darwin award candidate did not see that movie....
