I had suggested that something like this be created a while back, and then be "stickied" at the top of each main area of the forums. I was told that a list already existed, to a smaller extent, on mk's faq, but it's not very extensive and is buried farther into the site than most people would ever look.
I hope that this will get bumped as a sticky thread when it's more or less complete -- thanks for taking this on! |

TIFF -- Tagged Image File Format. I can be compressed or uncompressed, but if compressed it uses:
LZW -- The Liv-Zempel-Welch compression algorithm used with TIFF files; it is "lossless" compression, meaning the restored (uncompressed) file is exactly the same as the original.

COTRR - Congrats on the red ribbon
COTYR - Congrats on the yellow ribbon
Although, I've only seen that used for the blue ribbon to date.

Thanks - I couldn't think of a good way to summarise the description. And 'lossless', that's the word I was looking for! |

I update the list a little later.
Let's keep the list to acronyms, abbreviation, & initialisms that are used here at DPC and/or Photography related.
Thanks for all the help everyone.

Actually, I should have said that the "decompressed" (restored) file is the same as the original (uncompressed) file. :-) |
