Tv and Av shouldn't have caps on the second letters.

There's RTM to encourage others to "read the manual" as you have it, but then there's RTFM, to really encourage them.

BaDH - I did a search and this thread is the only place this one turns up. We should probably remove it and only have stuff people might have a need to look up.
UB - Is this one commonly/ever abbreviated?
GND - Is this ever used? I've only ever seen this abbreviated as ND-grad
RTM is rarely used. Suggest changing that to the more common RTFM. No need to change the definition, though -- people will figure it out.
OOB's definition should probably be changed to "out of the box"

Some additions:

B&H - Not an acronym, refers to the photo equipment retailer by that name.
CC - Critique Club
D&L, D/L - Drew & Langdon. D/L can also mean Download
DPC - DPChallenge (should be obvious, but still)
DQ - Disqualification
FS - Free Study
L - Canon's high-end lens series, L derives from low-dispersion glass.
RP - Report Post
ToS - Terms of Service
VR - Vibration Reduction
WPL - World Photography Leagle (predecessor to DPL, see above)
WWYT? - What Were You Thinking?

CMOS - Can also mean that stuff that grows on the south side of a pier at the CSHORE. :oP

CS2 usually refers to Photoshop CS2
CS3 usually refers to Photoshop CS3

ACR - Adobe Camera RAW

Maybe you can explain what Av and Tv actually represent as acronyms. These are left over from the early days of the camera:

AV (Aperture Value)
TV (Time Value)

Thanks for putting this together.

I'll think of more later...

I use this one and have seen it used here, I think it is why I started using it.

Are we developing "DPCspeak" now? The acronyms confused me a lot when I was a noobie.

Is there anything for "Straight From Camera" or "Not Edited" yet?

Can "USM" also mean "User Supplied Magic" ?

Also, IQ - Image Quality.

By the way, I saw the entry for Alien Bees. If that one has a hyperlink, then there are many more that should have links. Should we start suggesting links?

I believe (correct me if I'm wrong, Scott) that the goal is to create a reference document -- and therefore to document acronyms in common usage, not to make up new ones.

Your correct, Terry!
The goal is to create a reference document, as accurately as possible. Some acronyms provided by user may not be an acronym used and should not be on the list. Unfortunately I don't know if some of them have been used or just made up. That's where I need users help to let me know which ones should not be on the list and which ones should be on the list. Also which ones need to be linked.

So you know ISO stands for International Standardization Organization, and ASA (for film) is American Standardization Organization.

ISO ΓΆ€“ Number indicating a digital camera sensors sensitivity to light

I just mentioned what the abbreviation meant since you are trying to be as accurate as possible for the DPC audience.

ISO can also be Greek for "equal" or Latin for for "source" like isotope.

Just a thought to help along.
