SIGMA 70-300 f/4-5.6 MACRO DL 70 300MM CANON
Tamron AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 LD Macro Canon

Which one is better to fit my Canon Rebel? Need your opinion. Thanks.

I have read good things about the Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO Macro Super II, which i am saving for next.

The APO is meant to be sharper than the DL version and also has 2 macro settings.

Head over to photozone. The link you're interested in is near the top "Canon EOS".

Between these two, I would choose the Sigma. However 1st choice would be for the Canon.

I am a believer of proprietary lenses. Camera makers, manufacturing lenses for their own camera systems will be superior...IMO. Since Sigma has a camera system, but also makes lenses for other systems, they would qualify as my 2nd choice. Unless I was using a Sigma body, then they would be my 1st choice. Again proprietary.

For Sigma, the price I found on eBay:

Sigma 180mm F3.5 EX APO Macro HSM Canon New $829.60
Sigma 70-300 APO Super II Macro Lens f/Canon $179.00
SIGMA 70-300 f/4-5.6 MACRO DL 70 300MM CANON $114.95

so probably I'm gonna pick up "Super II". Thanks yall.

If you get the Sigma, make sure that it is the Super II version - it has a red strip (the older Super I has a gold strip). The general consensus is that the Super II is the best of the bunch.

EDIT: Ah... I notice you've decided on the Super II. Well... if that's the case then to make sure you're not cheated or anything, check for the red strip to make sure that it indeed is the APO Macro Super II version.
