Thats so sad, i first ever heard of him from watching Lord of the Rings behind the scenes dvd's and he looked like he had such a zest for life and a great personality. |

I just read this announcement on the new. A remarkable man and an inspiration. He will be remembered and missed.

He was prbably the greatest New zealander of our Time, he was unassuming and a living treasure of this country of ours.We all feel a loss of this marvellous Man who did so much both for this country and also Nepal

What great man, not only for his mountaineering, but for his work in Nepal with the Sherpa peoples. A sad loss. |

As I sit in front of my PC day after day I can not imagine embarking on such an adventure. My respect and admiration goes out to him. RIP. |

I was thinking about him the other day. He did a lot of good things for the people of the Himalayas. |
