No "Old Ways" thread yet? No description, so it must be pretty open-ended. Thoughts?

A real hot topic, eh?
I like broad, ill-defined challenges like this. It's fun to see how people interpret it and rise to the challenge. I also like seeing challenges with no challenge description - let the title stand on its own! |

I predict a number of images with the title 'Old Ways'. ;oP |

How many photos with film cameras taking pictures? or how many photos with tape walkmans? or front of Commodore 64, Atari 800 XL, Apple II?
big analog telephones, BW TVs in big wooden cabinets...
Man, endless ideas here :D |

I'm thinking this could be one of the better challenges in a while with a broad range of interesting images to sort thru. :-)

Might as well make the challenge description "DNMC."
Although maybe trolls will be overwhelmed with the open-endedness. |

I'm thinking there will be more shots of old country-style methods of doing what machines do today. Manually milking a cow, harvesting crops, horses plowing fields, etc.

Such challenges really scare me! SO if i present something which used to be followed say some 300 years ago in my country, like welcoming guests in a certain way, will it be valid and appreciated? |

I'm really laughing at the reactions, (scares me, etc.) because this is the first challenge I have really felt like "Man, I have an IDEA for this one" LOLOL!! (I'm new, so cut me *some* slack, ROFL).

No, that would be too specific to appeal to the general public here at DPC.

Valid, yes, definitely.
Appreciated, not likely - it's too far "out of the box" that is the average DPC voting style. |

Unless a simple title can add to it's validation and appreciation. |

Don't forget that some of us are new and haven't been assimilated by the "DPC voting style." |

I'm thinking that B&W photos will probably fare better in this photo--it gives them some authenticity for their "old ways".
