I have a little movie footage (of my daughter) that was filmed by someone else.
The quality is pretty good, but the file in the ".mov" format. I'd like to have it as an avi (so I can use my Pinnacle Studio).

I have found one free converter, but the resulting avi file has issues with sound and speed fluctuations.

Does anybody know of a good converter? I would prefer free, but would be willing to pay for it if I knew the resulting quality will be good.
I don't want to spend $30.00 on a paid version of Quicktime (as an example), only to find out that the result is the same as I got from the freebie.

You don't say which one you have tried. There are quite a few free ones out there. Have you tried WinAVI?

Another good freeware to try is Super@

I use it often and never had trouble.

Thank you very much for your replies, Ricki, Alain and Terry.

I'll be looking into it and trying them out.
