Thread search turned up nada, so here you go:

Polling Place Photo Project

"The Polling Place Photo Project is a nationwide experiment in citizen journalism that encourages voters to capture, post and share photographs of this year̢۪s primaries, caucuses and general election. By documenting local voting experiences, participants can contribute to an archive of photographs that captures the richness and complexity of voting in America."

Yes, it's the NY Times.
No, you don't get paid.
Yes, the photos become Creative Commonsed: "All photographs are contributed under an "Attribution No Derivatives" Creative Commons license."

But - if you're going to vote why not bring your camera (if allowed by The Man)?

I wonder how many people are going to get arrested participating in this. Would be quite the interesting story as a result, I expect.

I would anyway :-)

I fact, when I had to vote on an electronic machine with no paper trail, I took a photo of the screen before submitting the votes to provide my own "receipt."

Thanks for the heads-up!

I have to vote before taking my son to school, so I hope to get in a few shots just before the polls open.

Sounds like an interesting historical project to be involved with. I tried to find on the web site //pollingplaces.nytimes.com/content.cfm/home specific rules by state as to legality. No luck. I could actually ask someone, but prefer to read the law: anyone know where to find out about Georgia ie.??
