I think many people are being killed by the Basic editing. My shot wouldn't have benefitted too much from Advanced editing, and it's doing OK at around 6.2. :-)

I think it's more likely to be that there's a lot of DNMC because the pictures have more than just eyes in them. I'm guess that's why my entry is in freefall.

Well, seems like a low scoring one all round. I was nicely over a 6 this morning and now it's falling a bit but still, I like the shot so that's the main thing.

It would make for a pretty weird challenge if everyone filled the frame with an eyeball. I don't think any subject has to fill 90% of the frame. The subject is the focus. :-/

I agree too many people taking the challenge title too literally, I get that a lot lately :) but Im in the mindset now I'm shooting for me and not for what I think the voters mite like, as long as I like it then I'm happy and if someone else likes it then thats just a bonus :)

Heh! No. Last I checked I was on the south side of 5, along with nearly half the posters here, so I figured anything above a 5 must be really good! (Because mine ain't that bad.) |

For folks wondering why the advanced ruleset wasn't chosen. Langdon probably wanted to see what real eyes look like. Refreshing to browse the photos and see quite a few eyes that I know where not processed to death and look magically wonderful. Plus, more attention to the expression was put it, so that's fun. Even those shots which are portrait oriented, I can see the focus on the eyes was put in.

Thats what I was talking about is too many are taking it too literal and if thats the case I fear for the single eye ball photos as the title was "The Eyes Have It!" :/
I agree that the eyes should be the focus but not have to consume 100% of the photo as well...
