HOw do you edit the raw files? I try to open the file in photoshop cs and it says Could not complete becuse it is not the right kind of document.

You need CS3 and the latest version of the RAW plugin to be able to open 40D RAW files.

The RAW converter that came with your camera, Digital Photo Professional, will be able to open them. You can then convert it to a 16bit tiff or psd so you can open it in PS CS.

You could download the freeware program "UFRaw". It's pretty handy and does a good job of conversions.
