unfortunately no, i haven't heard of/seen it before....I guess you cuold say I'm a 'city gal' b/c I grew up in louisville and pretty much never ventured out into the 'wild'....i feel like ive been missing out....thats why i wanted to put together this gtg....b/c for 1. It will MAKE me get out and shoot and 2. I don't know where to go to get some great nature shots in ky.... :(

Nothing to do with the gtg, and I've never been to those falls, but in looking at the picture the prof took, it looks "natural." Would there have been a rock slide or something that caused it to do that?

I found the one I used to go to and, thank goodness, we were totally talking about 2 different waterfalls. This one is still privately owned.

It was named by Kentucky Life as one of Kentucky's most hidden, pristine sites.

This waterfall is ABSOLUTELY the most beautiful place I have ever been to. I can probably get permission for a group of photographers to camp out there. There would be nobody else around for miles. The water is crystal clear. I talked to a friend of the owner last night and he said it's been pretty undisturbed for several years so the amount of wildlife is insane. That's good and bad, I guess... snakes, ew. You can walk either way down the creek forever. Plenty of swimming holes. There is an excellent spot to set up tents which is next to the closest place to park (40 ft away from the falls).

I may even jump again for old times sake.

so what do you think? Anyone up for a DPC campout? Is it at least worth calling and asking?

I'm off to find the pics of it I took in high school.

How about we all start throwing out dates and see which seems to work best for everyone else. I don't have any vacations/travel planned for the next few months so I can be very flexible. Let's just play it by ear!

I think May would be nice...sometime in the later half of the month.

wife reminded me last night that we are shooting a friend's wedding that day :(. Maybe the 25th??????
