Gulp... I took the plunge.

Biggest purchase I've ever made.

Will you be my friend? :)

I am absolutely jealous...

My wife gave me a choice...

Stay married or get the D3...

I am seriously considering both options before I make my final decision.

Congrats.

Absolutely! LOL... I may not have much time for friendship... or bills... or bathing... I'll be too busy shooting. = )

And how hot is your wife? The D3 is pretty sweet. = )

LOL...She hot enough for me to have to think about it! The D300 is what I will probably end up with (at some point this year).

Looking forward to seeing some great D3 shots added to your already stellar portfolio.

And whats the progress on the 14-24mm that you now NEED to go with the 24-70?

Ha... that's half the reason I got it! I'm playing Dr. Achoo next, I need all the help I can get.

Dear god, I just spent $7700, and already I need new equipment?! Actually, I'm going to try out the 14-24 Saturday. I have my first wedding I'm assisting at, and the main photog has a D3 and the 14-24. He said he'd let me run around with it for a while. = D

Thanks for the compliment! I'm hoping it ends up being worth it. (Although I have to say I'm already in love.) But I've heard absolutely no complaints about the D300, and went back and forth all week on the two cameras myself. In the end, I decided if I got the D300 I'd probably end up wanting the D3 in a year anyway, so I went that route now and saved myself the trouble.

Big congrats on the purchase. Good luck at the wedding. And more good luck against Achoo/Ann.

Welcome to the club. Been using this for the last 1 month & it is a really fantastic camera.
No better camera than this especially in low light situations IMO.

Thanks Andrew! I saw all the reviews about the incredible high ISO performance... looking forward to seeing what it can do.

Can I ask where you got it? I have been trying to find one and all of my usual sources are "out of stock" or charging way more that $5,000.

I bought the last one at a little place near me. But Sammy's camera in L.A. has a couple in stock, although they're sold out online.

Congratulations... enjoy that fine camera. I'd love to try that ultra-high ISO and see the results of that full frame sensor! I wish you many years of enjoyment.
