Absolutely. Or you can comment by using your poetry on someone else's image. Do what you want. This is an artist's colony here. I guess maybe I should start another thread to post images???

Oh, no need, this thread is lovely :)

Here's an old one I don't feel like redoing...

What fun, and what a great group of people already turning up.

I'm in, please, though I'm already behind on the b&w a week challenge, I'm coming up to a slower period at work and will get caught up there, as well. No chance of one per day, but I'll be here, nonetheless, when I can be.

Best,

Bruce (aka, Rob)

Ghosts

Something moves the reeds,
nudges your shirt off the porch rail.

A black bird on the pier.
I think of telling you.
It's gone.

I feel your hand on my back
and expecting your face at my shoulder,
I turn my head.

I have never been to this inlet before,
but I have seen this water.

Beautiful

I want for an instant or two
to be beautiful, to say for one day
I lay with daisies and my hair
roiled their petals in that sunlit soup.

I want to walk on clouds, in the summer
of some girl¹s dream to have wings,
in every feather a delicate abstraction
of color, a slight curl, a secret code,

and then to rise like orange ashes
threatening the carpet, to unfurl
like a fear she must face, to paint
in her brave eyes my finest picture.

How Cold It Must Be

How cold it must be
not loving me.
I bet it freezes you.
I bet you mutter
strange prayers at night
you don't even understand
and watch the clouds
of your breath
like they're angry ghosts,
like you shut your tiny door
on a terrible storm
and you wonder
"Who's knocking?
Who's knocking?"
and you're too scared
to let him in.
I bet you want to grab your knees
and stop the shivering.
How cold it must be,
being you,
not loving me.

Don, I love those, please keep them coming.
They're extremely visual too, I get very distinct images from them... I wonder if I can capture a couple of them over the next month :)

BRAVO my friend. I think I need to start the official one so that we can have that in the thread where we upload the images. Will you cut and paste please??

Judy, you're certainly a better photographer than you are a secretary. You missed a few. ;)

Any other joiners? From what I understand, this is very open-ended as far as what you'd like to add for text...song lyrics, poems, sayings, literary or inspirational quotes, mindless stream of consciousness ramblings...anything goes.

I also understand that text doesn't have to be added to the photograph - the photograph can be used as an illustration for a word, song, passage, etc (though it would most definitely help to have that information in the notes!!)

Please add my name into the mix.
Thanks.

Here's a poem with photo "Misty Forest" connected on the blog linked below.

SONNET FOR THE DAWN

A new day beckons hearts awake to sing,
As jeweled dew drops freshen every blade,
A flash of flicker-flight on morning wing,
Through Hemlock boughs renews the forest glade.

Eternity arises with the dawn,
In misty shrouded forests by the sea,
The sword fern camouflage the sleeping fawn,
Beneath the soaring Cedar canopy.

Awake my soul, your morning anthem raise,
To join the Varied Thrush in Matin̢۪s cry,
Leap up my soul, your Recreator praise,
In silent wonder seek him eye to eye.

The darkness fades, behold the new day breaks,
As all creation in Christ̢۪s light awakes.
