I am looking to expand my senior picture and wedding services. One of the ways to this is of course be more versatile and offer more services. I am looking to make a DVD slide show of the best pictures and put in on a DVD with the pictures scrolling set to music. Sounds easy? Well I can't seem to get it to work. I have IDVD on my Macs (one is a month old), and I cannot figure out how to add more pictures. Can someone either clue me in on how to do this or let me know of a different program to do this with? Thanks! |

I haven't really used either program, but maybe what you can do is create the slideshows themselves with iMovie, and use iDVD to structure the presentations. I think of DVD-authoring software as creating the format of the disc, with chapters or sections or whatever ...
Uh, have you tried looking in the Help area -- it's pretty comprehensive (sometimes) ... ;-) |

The easiest way to create slide shows is in iPhoto, from within its interface. Just make your selection, click Slideshow, select your music, transitions etc, save as a QT movie, and you're set. If you want to, you can send to iDVD and take your presentation a step further.
Aperture, if you have it, also creates integrated slideshows.

Are you wanting to add more photos to a slide show or add another slide show to the DVD? |

The slide show on iDVD only lets me load about 8-10 photos. Not near enough. I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to load more photos. Surely it can't be this difficult.....can it? |

I just loaded 90 photos into iDVD 7.0.1 selected a theme, added music and played it fine in OS 10.5.2. |

I use ProShow Gold for this. I can add as many songs and photos as I like and have the photos sync with the music. I usually use a song or two for wedding preparations, one or two for ceremony shots, and the same with the reception. It seems to work out well. |
