Hi, I'm new here.
I am having a hard time figuring out how to add a profile image, or how to add images to my portfolio. Are the portfolio images ones that have been submitted to challenges, or can they be uploaded directly to the portfolio? Just curious. I am awaiting a challenge that I will be able to participate in; this seems like a really awesome site!
Thanks,
Dani |

Hi Dani,
You can add a profile picture in "My preferences" - it will need to be the specific (and tiny!) dimensions that are specified. To have pictures in a portfolio you need to be a member - a whopping $25 a year. Welcome to the site and have fun! |

To upload images other than those for challenges you have to be a paid member.
For a profile picture, it has to be exactly 120x90 pixels or 90x120 pixels. This in done from my Home/preferences.
Welcome to DPC. It's a lot of fun. |

You can also try it out for one month for $5. This would let you enter at least four additional challenges plus the monthly Free Study, and provide more opportunity to try out the other rule sets. You'd also be able to upload to your Portfolio try out the print site.
Welcome! :-)

Yikes....
When did that happen? Total suckage... (sorry, but man, I wanted to show someone a photo in my portfolio and now find that they are completely inaccessible).
I guess I am going to have to pay $5 so I can download and move my photos to Flickr or something. *sighs*
Yeah, I've been busy and not around much. (Having a your first baby can do that.) But this was definitely an unexpected shocker.
:(
Double :( :(
25 megs wasn't a lot. 50 megs is really nothing these days. I didn't renew at the time because I was so busy it would have been a waste. I was hoping that I'd be able to participate more...but I must confess, I really, really do not like this change.
I wouldn't mind if it mind if I couldn't upload any new portfolio images. I could understand that. But I'd have hoped the old ones would be grandfathered in. I mean, they're still on the server taking up space.

Hey Saj! Long time no see. The portfolio/membership requirement has been in place since I joined in 2004. If you're talking about your photos from when you were a member, rejoin (for at least a month) and I'll bet they'll show up. Welcome back and congrats on the baby.
edit to add: WELCOME to DPC, danitello! Enjoy.
