I'm in, its blurry. I shot in in a messy room does that count? |

I'm in. If you see one that is blurry, messy, chaotic, abstract & somehow fascinating...it will be mine! I can't wait to see if it scores a 3 or a 7. "D |

I did notice way more entries are lined up for this than for pollution. Gonna be popular one.
I've got my entry in, but i'll be rooting for Whiterook to place high in this one. I'm looking forward to seeing blurry and oversharpened in the same (winning) image.

blurred. chaotic. disorganised. engaging. interesting.
As unambiguous as that all looks, I fear that a plain cup on a plain table with no further distraction and a shallow depth of field will would score high. Just because. |

I'm in: I thought I had pushed the boundaries of "messy" and "blurry" while processing...and now, loaded up it looks awfully neat..not enough blur and not abstracted enough either...it does have a certain amount of mess and chaos about it though...expecting many DNMC comments... Surprisingly difficult challenge to shoot for.

I see that 218 fools have already entered this competition. Stay away! The blue ribbon is mine!

I am really wondering how good/terrible the entries are going to be. I may look at all the shots and not vote on one of them. I really thinking that with 220ish entries we are really going to get 220ish+ different views on what is good in this challenge. In most challenges at least a couple of people will agree with each other. With this challenge we might vote the same number but for far different reasons.
I am also thinking that if my entry actually does well (which it might) I may print my entry out and put it up as a piece of art. Make sure you vote 10 on the shot with the big heavy wooden frame! :)
If its does terribly the frame will be used as kindling to burn my computer and my camera. :(

So what's going to win a brown in this challenge? I have no idea at all. |

These are my basic personal traits. So, having thrown myself into my challenge image, I predict the victory will be mine! Muawhahaha! |

Oh dear. Sounds as though you must have planned and organised your entry. Never mind. Better luck next time. |

I guess if I entered a self-portrait from Monday morning it would definitely be blurry and messy (due to the DST change) but it certainly wouldn't be interesting and engaging. Well I wouldn't be interested in being engaging anyways... :) |

Gosh...the agony and the ecstasy...I just don't know if I have it in me to enter this challenge. I just don't know if I can go through the hammer, but this one is probably the best blur I've got. So, I may just sit back and watch all of you enjoy the ride...;-) Good Luck Everyone!!!

or ... just a leeeeetle bit of image in focus to set the stage!
Originally posted by hopper: can't disagree ... it's also pretty easy to predict the outcry after voting when people feel short changed getting beat by images that have something in focus.
Originally posted by Strikeslip: I will bet anybody a beer that the winning shots have at least the subject in tac-sharp focus. I have no faith that the voters will give high votes to totally blurry shots, it's just TOO against the grain. I think it will be VERY challenging to figure out what will do well in this challenge. :-) | |

I'm happy to submit (yet another) intentionally blurry photo, but I'm afraid it's going to seem too organized for the description literalists. |

I did it backwards. Mine is a messy blur instead of a blurry mess. 4.0? |

Mine is not as chaotic or disorganised as I was gunning for. But I love the shot so I've submitted anyway. It's plenty blurry though that's not a problem. We'll see how it goes. |

This is only the second challenge I've entered - it will be interesting for sure. But if my photo does well does that mean I'm a good photographer or a bad one? |

you think i will get nailed for actually using a tripod, having things in focus but having a lot of motion blur (long exposure) and mess (subject in focus)... (cant really say much more for fear of giving it away) |
