In this thread ANYONE can COMPALIN about ANYTHING they want.

There is no topic and you can say anything you want so it doesn't get removed by SC.

PS just don't cuss, or show nakedness.

That won't happen because when you complain outside of a thread that isn't a rant created by the one pitching the fit it gets removed by SC.

This site is still in the 90's and with all the polls saying the same thing "stay the same" it will never change.

With that said... I do love this site for many reasons but I also hate it because the way it's being ran. I think (and this is my opinion not anything more) SC should be replaced at least every 3 or 4 years. I think that some rules should be edited to clear some things up and I think even though SC is doing their best at trying to stop cheating they have too much on their plate with all they do. Maybe some things should be tasked out to others... Let SC to validating and thread patrol while others watch voting and take advise from it's members.

I've said it before and I say it again there are other Digital photography sites out there and it won't be long before they are ahead of the game or better than DPC.

We need something made public about updates for the site. Plans and maybe a committee that could keep people up to date. Maybe a monthly meeting of board members that have more pull over SC. Think of it like auditors for the auditors. There are many things with in this site that could make it better and remove some of the anger and hostility but no one is ever taken seriously unless a survey is taken and the majority wins.

IMO those that say â�� I like the site the way it isâ�� should really be saying â��I donâ��t care what you do with the site as long as I can enter challengesâ�� IME itâ��s the exact same thing.

Earlier today I would have had a HUGE rant as a member was not only leaving rude comments (not just on my own shots) but then when I pm'd him asking him to please play nice, he sent me an email using cuss words I will not repeat. I notified SC, and they let me know he had been warned other times and they were looking into his recent misbehaviors.
I did reply to the nasty PM, just to let him know his comments and the PM had been reported. He then emailed me a couple of hours ago and was really really nasty. I did not need to bother SC with the last one, as I checked first and saw the he has indeed had his account cancelled.
So... instead of a rant, I have a TY to SC. :)

No one should be leaving rude comments on anyoneâ��s picture. If someone doesn't like someone else's picture maybe people could leave comments as to why they don't like it or what they don't like about it. OR just not comment on that picture at all. If it's in voting well just like not leaving a comment on a picture no one is forcing you to vote either. There is a arrow next to the numbers that allows you to skip the image and move on to the next one. If you want just vote on the ones you like and leave the ones you don't like to someone else.

I want to RANT against all those complainers who love to complain for the sake of complaining and all those know-alls who want to make changes just for the sake of change........you know what you people are a real pain in the ass.

well for starters I would change the way people vote by making them comment on pictures they vote 3 or below on. if they don't then their votes will drop off jsut like Second I would change the comment button and allow people to have a delete button.

What I'm saying is this -- When you *make* someone do something, that they are not already doing, they will simply find a way around what you are trying to make them do. If we "make" them comment in order for their 3 or less to count, they will simply stop making the vote of three or less. . .

Exactly. A better suggestion is found here. Instead of a perceived "punishment" -- forced comment for a vote of < 3 -- you provide incentives for good commenting habits.

I'm not SC nor did I apply for the position (lately)

Oh yeah and I am not the only one that thinks this. I'm just the only one that is speaking up in this thread. Read other threads to find other complaints or site suggestions.

Making people comment is not for my own sake. Lots of people would like more people to comment. I can see 257 of them that are actually waiting on a comment. Wow maybe if people would comment more they might not check the box for the CC too.

I don't think the number of people that leave the site is a large enough number to be effected nor would it really impact the site at all. There are thousands of members you're talking about maybe 1 person leaving.

Let me ask you this... If you HAD to comment on pictures that where 3 or below would YOU leave the site?

DD/Joseph, it's not like the current SC is mad with entrenched power -- they are volunteers who devote time and energy to maintaining the site and keep us all happy (an impossible task, but you know what I mean).

Anyway, I also want to add my thanks to the SC for the recent action taken on the IRC (incredibly rude commenter). I also complained about him, though not on behalf of my own photos.

Yes I would. I don't believe anyone needs to justify there vote to anyone.

The biggest issue that would make me leave the site would be those vocal minority members who forever complain how things aren't fair and they could do things better blah blah blah....you know who I mean.

Oh and BTW... If I was an SC I couldnâ��t just go changing things up. It would have to be discussed and among all SC and I'm sure the final decision would be up to Langdon
