Above all with this entry, I was proud of the black and white processing, and comments addressing that just made my day (week) :-D One thing I'd like to point out, because with the busyness of the image it may not be apparent, is the tilted couch (on the left). Just a little detail that I thought may have been missed.

This wasn't technically supposed to be a monster who *says* DNMC but a monster who didn't fit the challenge! My first title was "apprehended on multiple counts of DNMC" or something close to that. Why did I change it? Oh, why? Because I think the title I went with doesn't do a good job at all of making it clear that I KNEW my entry was DNMC and was making fun of that fact. Oh well, it was still a fun and cute entry that made a few people smile (yay!!)

So it has been a long time since I've felt tempted to really complain about my score. But the score on this makes me kinda sad... I thought coming off of the Blurry Mess challenge, people would be more favorably inclined toward abstracts. *shrug* Looking at the scores, I obviously got a ton of 1's, 2's, and 3's, but I also got a decent amount of 7's, 8's, and 9's as well. I'm taking this to mean that for people who didn't just hate abstracts, this image struck them as a good abstract. That makes me happy :-) And of course, great comments that also made me quite happy.

So, it's been up and down recently but overall I am pleased. I'm also working on a small project that I hope to bring to completion with a minimal amount of the energy I don't have a lot of. The project is something I'm really excited about, just for its own sake. That is a nice change from taking pictures solely due to a challenge description (which is good, but not 100% of what I think I probably need for my creative side to find more expression).

I want to thank everybody who has been comenting on my photos because it really goes a very long way toward helping me, not just think and improve, but feel emotionally good about what I am doing. <3 :-)

the project idea is good.

try to focus on one subject or style or thought - and photograph soley according to that.

Gordon seems to the be good at that kind of thing, and i tend to do the same. over a bit of time you'll find you improve. and the improvements will carry over to the next project or subject or style.
