ok, so i understand how they score, but where are you getting the total points assessed, seems to me there are a multitude of voting scenarios that will reach the same average score in the same number of votes. Unless you catch every singe vote that comes in and see how it affects your average individually, i dont see a real way of knowing, and then throwing in the people that vote and then change thier vote, either up or down with a second look.

The voter's love for my image seems to have found its resting point. And personally, I never thought it would score this high.

I've finished voting and I've added four new favorites to my collection. There are some very artistic images in this challenge that probably won't score as high as I think they deserve.

Yes each individual vote counts for/against your average score.
Too reach the "points" number just multiply each rank (1-10) level by the number of votes received in that rank.
So for the above example:
3 - 3s = 9pts
10 - 4s = 40pts
12 - 5s = 60pts
8 - 6s = 48pts
5 - 7s = 35pts
4 - 8s = 32pts
1 - 9s = 9pts

I don't think its a ribbon winner or anything but certainly think it deserved a better score than sub-5 :(
eta: In a 30 second scan of the thumbs I don't see anything that looks to me like it deserves a sub-5 score either. I'll have to take a moment to go through them though

Where is the sepia water droplet refraction shot? I'm really disappointed no one decided to do this to get their obligatory top 10 and probable ribbon finish. NOT! I'm really surprised we don't see two or three of these in every challenge because no matter how many times it's done it always scores well no matter what the challenge is.
