Hi All,

Can anyone tell me what USM stands for and how does it work to make the lens a better choice?

I like taking Macro shots as well as scenic shots, what lenses should I go for? Reasonably priced ones would be good.. one that would be good for the Canon 300D. Many thanks

Ultrasonic Motor

Used to Auto Focus lenses

Quieter and faster than non-USM lenses/motors.

I have a 75-300mm canon USM lens - excellent although still a low-end lens...

As Are said this would be a great second lens to the kit lens!It is cheap but good and I would get the usm canon lens! I have the sigma 70-300 cheaper but not as fast autofocusing.
