Oh I am soooo jealous. I wish that I could go to a GTG (never been to one). Sydney and Melbourne are on the other side of the country (going from top to bottom) and may as well be on the other side of the world at the moment. Wish there was something closer to home!!!! Waaagggghhhhh! :o( |

Thats why I set it as quite far away in the hope that people can save enough money... airfares around Australia now are sooooooo cheap. Can you save maybe $5 a week? till the end of the year? |

CHEAP???? Not on your nelly! Maybe down your way...but not here. Round Trip from Emerald to Brisbane is about $300pp....that's if you can get a seat...then there are the connecting flights, accomodation, etc!! LOL!! We don't get the specials out here!

Yep, it's not cheap but there is also the time factor. Middlemount to Emerald, Emerald to Brisbane, Brisbane to where ever, taxi, accommodation food, plus the cost of me having to pay someone to watch my shop (closing is not an option) for the better part of a week. It all adds up.....sigh. Not to say that I couldn't do it but I also have a family and we dont get to holiday often as it is, so it would be a bit greedy if I went and spent all that money and time on myself when it could have gone towards a family holiday. Therefore the closer the better. |

Family holiday to Melbourne. I know if I was to go to a GTG anywhere other than Melbourne, I'd be dragging the clan along with me.

I'd like to come but financial restraints do not permit. I'd love to have a WA DPCer GTG.

If it's Melbourne then I suggest the great ocean road for sure. It's not that much of a drive really. I can fit 4 passengers anyone is welcome to hitch a ride. Should this ever actually get planned! C'mon aussies. |

I've done the Sydney thing too many times with you know who! So I'd do anywhere else. If you've never been down the great ocean road though, I really would recommend this as a destination. |
