i keep reading everywhere on the net and in books that the stock sites are way over saturated in landscape, trees and flower shots.
i have quite a folder full of what i think are quite nice shots, should i try or not ?
(Ben looks especially at leaf and melking for good trustworthy advice..)

there is never a reason NOT to try something (in my opinion..)...you never know what could happen... |

If you already took the picture you might as well try. |

well there is tons of landscapes and nature on the stock sites but as with most every profession or area of stuff... there is never enough of the best.
If they are good landscapes they can sell well. One advantage is that landscapes don't go out of style like people images do so they can provide a longer residual income than more 'fashion sensitive' images.

Shoot some food-on-white or business-dressed-people for your first batch.
Once accepted, do not hesitate to send your landscapes and flowers |

Landscapes and flowers definitely don't sell as well as other areas, however they do tend to get more extended license sales and as mentioned above continue to sell for a longer period of time. If you upload them don't expect them to sell very frequently. That being said, stunning landscapes do sell extremely well, so it really depends on the photo. I would upload them, but also try to take a more stock oriented photograph every now and then just to see how it goes.
