If you feel like you can be fair, go ahead and vote. If you're gonna change how you would normally vote because you're in the competition, don't vote.
I personally vote on the competitions that I'm in because others are taking time to view, vote and comment on my photo, I feel like returning the favor. |
I usually take part in challenges that I like the subject. So those photos interests me more...and I m curious to see what others shot for the same topic.
Most of the times I review 2 or 3 times my initial vote mostly increasing it. And hopefully it has a Gauss shape. |

Always interesting to watch the profile views go up when i post in scores. From 5699 to 5713 in about 3 minutes LOL.

Staying afloat here at the 100 vote marker buoy. I thought I had a pretty good entry, but apparently, it's one of those decent shots that just does not stand out from the crowd. Finally got one positive comment. That's enough to float my boat. (I'll quit before I make more bad nautical puns.)

I should have added that the score was as high as 6.2 and is dropping steadily with every vote. But don't you worry, I'll be in the 5s before all is said and done. |

| Thanks BeeCee, I know part of my feelings is because I think I could have done better but I hit the deadline literally and almost didn't get anything in. My computer was acting up so it took forever to just make some simple edits, however it is obvious now it needed a few more. At least I had a good idea and was able to carry it out. |

And you can do a version with the edits you want and put it in your portfolio after :)
But I know what you mean, I've had some of those, too!
This one isn't the editing, it's because I chose to go a little out of the box, knowing it would get nailed scorewise, but some might like it.
Hey, I figure I got a pretty good score last 2 challenges, don't want to make it a habit or folks will come to expect it! ;)

| Problem with (relatively) high scores is that one might start expecting them of oneself. Doing better than my average on this one, but we're still talking middle middle. |
