Updated list with some new names - if you've paid and i don't have you on the list, please PM me and I'll sort it out. I'm not all that bright, so you may have to type slowly.

I'll be driving, so if you can get away I'm sure I could let you ride with me :)
(I think, at this point, that I'll be going alone, not positive yet, but if so hubby would probably be happy to have someone ride shotgun)

Well, I guess that settles it. I am coming. I just booked my flight and will have the check in the mail on Monday.

See you all there.

Well then, I guess I HAVE to figure out a way to make it work, eh? :)
But if I do, you HAVE to be there too!

Ok BeeCee... I am going, so you have to be there. I see there are other reasons for promises to be there, but you convinced me to join you, do don't let me and the rest of us down. :-)

Hey Sander, I would pack your bathing suits just in case. If you two head up to Banff at all there are hotsprings there which are pretty fun, not to mention creeks/rivers out camping and many pools here in Calgary.. :)

So yes lots of possibilities :)

Hi All,

Now that I have decided to come, I wonder if there is an offical schedule of events. I would hate to miss anything.

I am scheduled to arrive at YYC (Calgary, for you non airline sorts) at 7:02pm on July 4. Will there be a congregation of DPC'rs shortly after that time? Where? When?

Thanks.

Yes, please don't leave us wandering aimlessly in that evil city :)
06/16/2008 03:14:02 PM · #92
I'm arriving on the afternoon of July 4 as well (and since I've never been to Calgary before, will probably be completely lost!), staying through the morning of July 8, so hope to hook up with some other DPCers for the "off days". Maybe catch part of the Stampede festivities? Certainly, there will be lots of opportunities for crowd candids in the city.

Ahhhh, here's a project for those who know the city;

A map marked with locations of where we'll be and various points of interest, such as Stampede grounds, zoo, Calgary Tower, hospitals, etc. so that we can get an idea of what we're getting into :)

As far as the map goes I can try to wip up a google map in the next couple days maybe of local attractions if anyone is interested... Im very familiar with the local hospitals and the zoo of course ;) thats my lame attempt at humor for the day, I guess those that know me will get more of a giggle from it...

So far so good, Ive taken the 4th and 7th off so I may be convinced to pick up some people from the airport on the Friday if needed, and drive you to the university so you don't get ripped off charged to much for a cab :)

My daily driver car will seat 5 adults inside and the trunk will hold at least 3 or 4 bodies so luggage shouldn't be a problem... and in the off chance you have a little one with you I do have a child car safety seat :P

Feel free to PM me and Ill see what I can do to pick anyone up if needed, I promised Shecoya earlier that I would offer to drive some people...

Yes. You'll be charged roaming charges though. Check with Verizon to make sure how much it will cost.

Whoohoo!! tik tok baby!! :D

OK, I'm looking for some feedback from the Abertians and others who know the area well.... I'm looking for little known paradises around Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise, Badlands.... so that I may warm up my camera with top notch nature/wildlife photography. How about a place to shoot bears fishing? Birds of pray? Secluded mountain lakes?

Please PM me if you have suggestions.

Thx!:)
