is it justified to spend the extra cash on the canon or would i be satisfied with the sigma which i hear to be a very close second when put up against the luxery of lens's.

You already have a Tokina. Get the Tokina 80-200 AT-X Pro off ebay for a fraction of the cost. I love mine!

wow i dont know if its just me, but the sigma seems sharper than the canon. hmmm. well does anyone have a claim to the build quality?

I have the Sigma 70-200 2.8 and love it!! It is an awesome lens. I figured until I can make a little more income from my photography to stay within my $$ range, so far I've not been disappointed.

I've been nothing but happy with this lens!! Hope that helps.
