Hey Jokers -
I think we should agree to not vote on each other's submissions during the voting phase to keep things impartial. Of course this means we'll have to see each other's submissions beforehand, and I'm thinking that means we can c&c them before final submission also. So maybe we should upload our submissions to our "workshop" folders, post a link to take a look (via email of course), c&c, then resubmit.
What do you think?

Makes good sense... Agreed. What deadline are we working with to allow for c & c time? Does 48hrs before the challenge goes to vote sound sensible?

I like the 48 hour number (Sunday evening or earlier). Obviously some people aren't going to be able to make it some weeks, so any advance notification is great, even a few hours if you can (in that case, submit and post to workshop and send an email, you can always change your submission but at least you won't forget to actually submit, which is always better than nothing). |

Maybe we should setup a flickr or yahoo group - any feelings on this? I know the under-24's in the "Battle" tournament have done that. |

48 hours seems reasonable. I'll be in glorious Chowchilla,CA this weekend for a family reunion. I think the internet has arrived there by now!
I'm fine with a flicker group.
I'll finish up the banner tonight.
I've been under the assumption that we want a team banner for our profile page. I'm not sure how we would use a single jersey.

I was always thinking team banner. Did you see some of the others out there where the first jersey is full-on with the logo and the others are color-interleaved with names? |

Hey Ben - there are some template links in the first post of the Olympic thread - likely the ones you have though. FYI. |

Banners. I hope it works for everyone. I can't say it was easy but I learned some skills for the next photo birthday card, etc!
50px in height
85px in height
120px in height
Choose the size you prefer. I have the banner saved as a PSD if you want it to play around with let me know and I'll email it to you. Can't load PSDs to DPC.
ETA: Hmm, thumbs are very tiny, and look lousy on the profile page. I've asked yanko for some help.

Hi Team Jokers,
I know the timing's not great, but I've decided not to participate in the DPL this time around for very personal time constraint reasons: i.e. just too darned busy. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I'm sure you'll still be able to find someone to replace me, if it's not too late under the rules. Good luck and have tons of fun. I'll be following along from a distance. Roger |

Do what you have to Roger, no problems here. I'm trying to figure out exactly how I'll have the time to do it too. |

Ben - these ROCK! Let us know when you resolve thumb issue. Thanks again for doing this! Also, hopefully we'll have Roger's replacement soon so we can update the banner. |

QUICK CALLIING ALL JOKERS, is Shadows/Highlights allowed in basic editing? |
|
|
07/01/2008 11:24:34 PM · #45 |
If that is adjusting colors then yes if it is applied to the whole image uniformly - in basic you can't do any selections. Does this help? |

Just in case, you do know that tonight is NOT in the tournament? |

S/H is fine, as Steve said, as long as it is used on a single layer, and obviously no mask. I often times forget that basic needs to be done on a single layer except adjustment layers.
What about using warming filters in basic? |

Thanks to yanko, I finally put the banner on my profile page. It's the 85px version. Choose the banner you want, right click over the image and save the URL. Then go to your preference page, and post the URL as an image.
Of course, I still need to add our new mate! |
