My weathered pic finished at least half a point lower than I expected it to. Not sure why. Too contrasty? too weathered? not weathered enough?

I'd appreciate some feedback if anyone has time to leave a comment.

I didn#t vote on the challenge, but if I had this would have been a 4. The subject id fine, but the perspective is the typical tourist view and the DOF is not shallow enough to fully separate the statue from the background.

I agree with eyewave about scoring this a 4. The image lacks impact because the subject blends in with the background (though I like the way you framed it with the window). The lighting is also a bit harsh.

This one did not come up for me in voting, but my impression is the perspective does not work. My eye is drawn up past the subject and instead, to the out of focus window in the background. Perhaps because that is where the strong color is. The statue having it's face worn off may be a contributing factor to that as well.

You still came in slightly higher than my own entry in that challenge, which only got one neutral comment.

True enough, but to be fair to me, it was pretty much the only perspective I could have shot it at, owing to it being above me. Of course, voters weren't to know that I suppose.

I had to shoot it at max telephoto, which gave me a max aperture of 5.6, hence the DOF is not as shallow as I'd have liked.

Thanks all for your time.
