Hope I picked right with my FS, 'cuz Lawn is looking like an unexpectedly safe bet to beat my average:

I'm just .0916 over my average, which keeps my average down and me in the game . . .

my lawn is a dizzying 0.4369 over average, but I'm expecting mowers

edited to correct decimal point

My score is currently at .0832 below my average, but w/ only 28 votes that could change...

(and probably will repeatedly)

I think this is gonna be a rough week. I will probably be back and forth thinking I'm in/out for next week. I didn't trust my FS to even give me a 5, so I went w/ this one. I actually thought it looked like a pretty decent stock photo. Either my computer or my eye is way off since I moved. Maybe both.

Me, too! That is, a point over my average, not yours.

Hey, do the folks in FS still have to enter by next Tuesday? Their round 1 scores won't be in yet.

Are we posting scores for the side challenge here or should we start a new thread?

So far I am +0.5136 over my avg. :)

Amazingly, I am 1.15 ABOVE my average. I never thought that would happen!!!
I haven't seen a 6 in a loooooooong while.

:)

Hope it stays that way. eeek.

Let's keep it all in a single thread, to avoid getting too spread out (and not just because of the popcorn we're all eating as we watch ...)

Feel free to post your scores, cheer for the survivors, and complain about the voters who led to your own untimely demise here as the tourney goes along.

Yep, everyone has to enter every week or they are bounced. Free Study participants should have a decent idea by Sunday (if they want to use Fallen for the tourney) and an even better one by Tuesday (if they use Morning or Evening) if they are gonna survive. Melethia is right, though, you won't know for sure until the challnege is over. So if its close, go ahead and enter. You know you want to.

btw -- I will try to continually update the OP to show the survivors each week as the challenges end. That's really more for everyone else though, since you don't need me to tell you whether you are in or out!

Current score in Still Life: 5.0256 4.9767

Very discouraging as I did work hard at this challenge. Still Life is so out of the box for me. I'm not a lighting genius. It took me until the next to last day to even come up with what I felt was a cool idea. It took me several hours to get my shot to come out close to what it looked like in my head. In the end I was pleased, though basic editing prevented me from tweaking a bit here and there as I wanted to.
My guess is that I will not survive round one here. :(

I have a low 6 in the cardboard box challenge which beats my low average very easily.

Looks like I'll be out in the first round. My Still Life is dieing at 4.6.

I am descending at a great rate - and closing - to the fateful average. I don't know about people in glass houses, but those who live in cardboard boxes should not play with fire.

I've got this round in the bag, bring on next week

Woo hoo! My Still Life is nearly half a point under my average. I'm glad I didn't pick this one to count. :)
07/30/2008 08:07:11 PM · #339
I'm also almost a full point above my average! Next round will probably knock me out though...

I'm in cardboard and looks like I'll be out in the first round :-(
07/31/2008 11:10:13 AM · #341
geez I thought my still life would do much better, but at least I am still .4 above my avg!
07/31/2008 12:25:17 PM · #342
Oh, the suspense! I'm being boxed in!
I've been as high as .0464 above my average
and now, gasp, I am .0129 below my average.
Will I be in round two?
Only time - and nice positive voters - will tell.

I have high hopes that my FS entry will sail past my current average and glad I didn't nominate my Lawn entry for this as it would have been nail biting stuff

Avg Vote Received: 5.7840
Lawn Avg Vote: 5.7832

My situation also. I am currently 0.3629 below my average and I honestly don't think it deserves such a low score. I wonder if the nature of this tournament isn't for people to vote/rate lower than they might otherwise. I'm not sure I'll be in next week either.

0.0381 and closing

squeeek

I would have to have the rug pulled out from under me for me to miss the next round. My average is low 5.1183 and I'm sitting with a lawn shot at 6+ right now. Never underestimate the voters I could be out yet, it wouldn't be the first time I went into a weekend with a 6+ and came out the other side below 5.

Oh well for right now I'm well above the 5.5 I was hoping for so I'll keep the positive thoughts flowing for everyone and hope to see all of us in the next round :)

All the best to everyone.

MAX!

I'm almost a whole point above my average.

Assuming I make it to the next round.. just wanted to let you know I'll be submitting to either Morning or Evening this week (not Fallen).

Hmmm, that seems unlikely to me, because I voted without even considering it was anything but business as usual. But who knows? I guess if someone is taking the tournament very seriously, anything is possible.
