Does anyone know a site similar to dpreview or steves-digicams that gives professional reviews on camcorders?

Not offhand, but someone I trust to know about this stuff says get the Canon GL2.

Anyone want to buy a canon xl1 with both regular and wide angle lens, tripod, and avid dvxpress editing system? I'm planning on selling it on ebay soon but haven't gotten around to it.

I don't know any sites offhand, but I know it's the same deal as with buying a camera, it really depends on what you want to do with it and how much your professional image counts when going on a shoot, etc.

I was going to set my reserve at $2600

and camera bag, mic, and light and all cords and everything included too of course. I probablly used it a total of 10 times.

I've been researching this for the past month and found these sites to be relatively helpful. Neither has the active, informed community you'll find here, but it's a start.
