I am fairly new to photography. I've had a digital camera for about 4 years though, just an old Fujifilm. Well, I got rid of that and wanted something that was a little more advanced so I could learn some more about photography. I searched and searched...weighed my options and decided to go with the Canon Powershot A80.
Here are some of the pictures I've taken with it. If you could give me your thoughts on them I would greatly appreciate it!
A couple of these have had some obvious photoshop work done to them, the first two actually are the only ones with any great PS work done. The others were simply resized and cropped.
Here are a few of the better shots in my opinion:
Dam in town.
Sundial
Gazing Ball
St. Vincents Church

Photoshopped or not, I think they are all really good. You have a good eye. :)
Welcome! |

I think I may have posted this in the wrong forum. Forgive me. Mods, feel free to move to the correct forum. |

Moved. =] The church pic is my favorite; I assume the stars were added in Photoshop for effect? The dam shot is a close second.

I agree with jenesis - great shots and you seem to have a very good eye. My favorites are Dam in town, Sundial and St. Vincents Church.
Very nice work :-) |

Oops. I have the same pic without the stars added. But yes, they were added in photoshop for a different effect.
I can post the original if you like, but it's basically the exact same picture with just a pitch black sky. |

Forgot to add one. I am really trying to learn composition for my photography, and choosing a good background. Sometimes my composition is way off, or the background is just horrible so I try to make up for it in photoshop.
I guess I have alot more photoshop knowledge than I do photography knowledge. But I'm just starting photography, so hopefully I will learn it as quickly as I learned some of photoshop.
Here's a couple other pics. First is of a tank here in town at Johnny Appleseed Park. Good subject to take a picture of but it's got a horrible background. I threw it in photoshop to add a more...vintage like feel.
Here is the original:

This pic was taken on the same day I took the pic of the tank. I had just cleaned my car so I decided to snap a couple shots. This is one of my favorites from the day.
