You know I posted a picture for people to edit and it never did. I wonder what was going on with it.
If I knew how to carry the voting system over and set up the site I would just host it on mine. |

A side site to DPC where members were given an image to edit from an agreeing member and then they voted on the results.

Post Processing challenge. people would post their pictures or A picture and everyone would do their own edit of it. You have rules just like dpc and people vote on the best edit. |

Actually, the link in the first post was to /index.php which doesn't exist anymore... this sleepy page has apparently been there for a while. |

Hey guys - sorry, I just saw this thread.
PPChallenge.com was my little project. I really enjoy the post processing aspects of photography so I created the site (modeled after a this site and a 2006 side challenge handled by strangeghost and nshapiro) for DPC members to play with.
It sleeps now for a few reasons:
- Participation was moderate - sometimes as few as 3-5 entries and ~15 votes on an image
- It takes my time to maintain
- Its coding style is poor (which contributes to it's difficulty to maintain)
- I want it to be better than it was - more self-maintaining and user-friendly - and I'd need to invest a pile of time to get it there
Maybe someday I'll find the time to invest to make it what it truly deserves to be. Unfortunately as a new dad, time is exactly what I don't have. Until then, side challenges in the forums shall have to suffice. |

I really enjoyed it, thanks for your efforts and hope it returns some day. It was wonderful to get to stretch a little in post-processing, and even better, see what everyone else's take was. Voting was "extra". |

I enjoyed it too. I feel bad because I didn't participate as often as I should have. Anyways, the concept was great and hopefully there will come a day when it returns.

Thanks for the encouragement. I've started another thread to gauge interest and discuss ideas for PPChallenge.
Cheers,

yes it was a great concept and smurfguy did a fantastic job of executing it. the main reason it was not well-attended was the external location. what a darn shame that the idea has not been incorporated here. |
