Went to the final regular season game for the Ft. Wayne Komets. Took my camera to get some shots.

PLEASE, excuse the quality on some, I had to crank the ISO up on most shots to compensate for the low lights.

All photos from game can be found here.

Here are some of the pics.

these are great action shots.

the second one looks like the guy on the right is looking around to see if anyone would catch him kicking the other guy in the pants...lol.

i've never tried to shoot a hockey game, but i bet it would be a lot of fun.

Those are really good shots, were you shooting through the glass or were you able to get access to an area where it was open? I shot the Kalamazoo Wings a few times back in the early 90's and got to shoot from the penalty box. It was a good way to get free tickets.

Did you get these with your A80? I just got one a month ago for point and shot purposes and it's a great little camera.

No access to any open areas to the ice, they were shot right through the glass...really makes it difficult trying to find a place where the glass isn't so scuffed up and dirty that it doesn't effect the shot.

Yeah, they were shot with the A80. I'm just getting into photography so I wanted something with some manual controls so I can learn a little bit before jumping into DSLR.

My next purchase will probably be a SLR and when I really learn it I'll jump into a DSLR.
