Am I allowed to ask for help from a few (just a few) of you nice (and always honest) folks regarding which free study entry to offer up for August? Not sure if this is considered bad form or not. I'm hopelessly undecided. If it's cool, please PM me. I'll send you a single hyperlink (external) that has all the images I'm considering. Thanks in advance! |

Not a good idea.
Just choose, make a decision, live with that decision, move on.

Why is it not a good idea? It is done by the DPL teams all the time. Many do get the feedback of others. As long as you do the proper courtesy of not voting when you know whose entry it is. |

Honesty is a premium.
DPL is one thing, team work is the key.
Personal advertisement of work to be put into a challenge.......hmmmmm, again, that term honesty.

I regularly ask others for their opinions between shots or subjects. However none of the people I ask are DPC members.
I'm not sure I see asking a few members for their opinions as a bad thing though. Given any challenge there is probably at least one cheater, one rule violator, and one person who has asked dpc friends in private about their entry and that is the most conservative estimate. There will always be holes in the system.
Assuming a few random people seeing an entry first as ruining a challenge is a little unrealistic imo since it is already a non-perfect system.
:) <-- this means you cannot yell at me, no really, it does mean that... *ducks and runs* |

Yes, go for it. And you can specifically count me in as someone willing to give you an opinion ahead of time. I ask for input regularly (particularly when I'm feeling like your profile pic) and I give friends advice when they ask.
And then none of us ever votes on the others' photos.
I probably end up losing some high votes, actually, because the folks I ask advice of just happen to be pretty high voters.
