i was guessing this would pull in 70-80 shots considering there were hardly 40 entries yesterday. that would have been nice, but 100 isn't that bad at all. lots of time to look at all the photos

I didn't realize tonight was the roll over. I just submitted mine a little bit ago- took it today. I haven't done many challenges lately- aside from the September Infrared side challenge (some interesting things in there). We'll see how this one goes.

Too many Ad shots which are not the same as catalogue shots.

Easy...... look at a magazine, that's an advertisment. Now look at products online at your favorite website, that's a catalog(or catalogue).

Easy...... look at a magazine, that's an advertisment. Now look at products online at your favorite website, that's a catalog(or catalogue).


OK, got it...I've made a photo of a product, showing just the (end)product no models holding it whilst sexy posing, no props, nothing. So it should be a product shot imho.

We'll see how it goes :-)

If a product shot is in a catalog, then it's an ad as far as I can see! Stop fussing over the difference already people and just enjoy the competition :)

Personally, after looking through the entries and commenting half of them (will get to the other half tomorrow) I can safely say I'm very impressed with almost all of the photos. Well done to everyone. I only wish I could vote, most of you would be getting very high scores from me!

Hmmm. I did not really read the description. Mine is really more of an advertisement shot. Better be ready for some DNMC comments. But on the bright side, I am up by a full point to a 5.0 now! I also thought it was standard editing- there is a flaw I would have liked to have fixed and see I could have. Oh well, learn (hopefully!) for next time!

FWIW: There are alot of different kinds of catalogues (with different kinds of shots) - they ain't all JC Penney.
