OK here is what you need to do.

Set your camera to manual exposure............
Set your ISO to 200
Set your shutter speed to 1/125
Set Aperture to F8
Set your WB to 5600K
Set your AB on 1/2 power

fire a shot, if its too bright on your histogram turn the lights down, too dark on the histogram turn them up.

How far away are your AB's?? At full power you should not be shooting at f2.8 or ISO800. Do you have a grey card? Set your camera at ISO 200, 1/125, and f/8...put the AB's about 5 feet away from the subject and then change the power settings until you have a good exposure. If you can't get enough light...you might need new tubes.

Once you get a correct exposure...take a picture of the grey card in the EXACT position as the subject...use it for a custom white balance. If you don't have a card...put your camera in AWB (It will do a good enough job).

If none of this works...something is wrong with your equipment.

Stupid question...you are taking these pics with the flash triggering, right? It just seems to me that with those settings you might be taking the pictures using the modeling lamps. How are you triggering the AB's...by synch cord or wireless?

EDIT...too slow...

damn he's right. it really looks like your shooting without the flashes beeing fired off. that would explain your strange camera settings also.

Ok, I can try all this tomorrow, as my model/daughter is pretty sick today with a nasty cold. I will test this tomorrow and post the results for all to see.

Thanks for the input, tammy

Whilst not perfect with some more effort and time I am sure it's almost fully recoverable.

Light room works well for correcting as well!!!

My guess is Jwillerton has the answer. i ran into this in shooting for pjs, i was using off camera flashes and i kept increasing the power on one and it never got any lighter. found out i had a sync problem. even though i could see the flash firing it was out of sync with the camera. try pointing your Ab's at you camera and take a shot to see if you are in sync. if you see it fire but dont get a brite light in you photo you are out of sync.
good luck
