Here's one. |
I'm honored to receive your TROLL adulation Art but humbly request a retraction. As you can see from my voting record, (Avg Vote Cast: 6.2115), I'm hardly a DPC troll. Trolls live under bridges and vote photos down. DPC Cellar Dwellers live in the basement and get others to vote their photos down. I forgive you for your modest confusion, but there is just a slight difference between a DPC troll and a DPC cellar-dweller.
To keep on topic with this forum thread: yes, I've considered ways to respond to the DPC BORDER DISORDER. My hope is to get more DPC entries to maximize their borders to reveal to DPC voters the absurdity of the growing movement among some DPC entries, including recent ribbon winners: thick, black top/bottom borders squeezing the photo in border vicegrips. The only way to combat such folly is to join and expand upon this border badness. Let's all double our borders. When considering your borders? Maximize! Thicken! Exaggerate! Time for borders, like post-processing, to take over. Enough fooling around with mere photography! We want bigger borders! Calling all border runners: make those borders shout for joy! Bring on the BIG BORDERS!

Art, you are such a bad boy... ;)
I say as long as it is clearly a border anything should go. with the exception of text of course. |

My spider sense tells me there is an awesome brown ribbon idea hiding in this thread somewhere. |

borders usually adds +1 to the vote originally intended by the voter - dang i've forgotten to use them for the last few entries! :p |

I personally enjoy borders. They keep those pesky Americans away from us Canadians. :)

way too clever... a mighty fine "gotcha" :)
Watch out though for the new movement of 20 foot high borders with barbed wire, tazer guns and trained DPC border guards...

Ah, charliebaker's brute border suggestion is the best so far.
Alas, zeuszen was not entirely accurate about this not being a candy shop.
Maybe a Border Wars challenge? |

crayon is so tempted to submit a 640x640 photo with a 2x2pixel photo with the rest being borders |

Make it an SP, crayon. You look great at 2x2. :P
I'm a guessin it's been done. probably by a self-professed DPC cellar-dweller. ;-) |

Ok guys, I sacrificed a surefire 6+ entry to settle this whole thing. The final verdict is that a border hurts your score.

ROFLMAO - I am laughing so hard reading the comments that my little schnauzer Waldo jumped in my lap to see if I was alright. Too funny.

Six 10's??? Someone should start a thread complaining about the anti-trolls.
btw, I like the border. The shoehorn needs polishing. 6. |

I think the image size is too small as it is without making it even smaller for borders. I had to go back and check it was actually 640 just before squashing my latest entry down for submission! |

Nah. They are the same trolls. Perhaps people would better understand if we just called them anti-ribbon aficionados.
