I have a fujifilm 2600z, and i know it might not be the best or advanced camara but it suits me fine, the only real feature i am envious is of the beautiful time delay shots, such as in the picture dissappering cars. Is there a way i can do that on my camara or on the computer? |

it would take a lot of labor to reproduce that on a computer (i think). You would have to look through your camera manual and see what the longest exposure time is.

I don't think that the 2600 has a manual mode to it, but if you want to try, put it on a tripod or something to steady it, cut the flash of and use the timer see what happens. If you can find a manual mode try setting the shutter speed to one of it's longest settings. |

I just looked it up, it has a max shutter speed of 1/2 sec, I am not sure that will get the look you want.

The only way I know of to do that kind of time photography on the computer would be to take a picture of the empty road and then draw in the lights. Like Zeissman said it's more trouble than it's worth. If I'm not mistaken your camera's speed will go as slow as 1/2 sec. so you could get some motion blur, but not as much as you're talking about. One other thing to consider is that you might start getting a lot of noise (like grain) in your picture with slow shutter speeds. Some of the newer cameras have noise reduction modes, or you could take an extra picture at the same settings with the lens cap on and composit the two together in Photoshop to subtract it, but this site doesn't alow that kind of manipulation.
