Uhh...
"Photos shot digitally are eligible, but you must submit a print. A photograph that combines the elements of more than one photograph or that has elements removed is ineligible. Photographs with minor burning, dodging, and/or color correcting are acceptable."
Some of last year's winners were shot digitally. With a few exceptions (excluding the winner) note the consumer grade quality of the equipment despite the excellent photos. It's all about the prints anyways. I'd prefer to submit a print. I'm gonna do it!

TIPS FROM OUR PHOTOGRAPHERS
Five of our top contributors—Brooks Walker, Catherine Karnow, Macduff Everton, Bob Krist, and Jim Richardson—offer advice.
â€Â˘ Get permission before you photograph someone.
â€Â˘ Focus on one element that is intrinsically significant, beautiful, or unique in every shot.
â€Â˘ The faster the film speed (ASA), the more sensitive the film is to light. Use 100 or 200 ASA for outdoor shots and a higher ASA (400 and up) for indoor shots.
â€Â˘ When in bright, sunny locales like the Caribbean, use a polarizer so your color will be vibrant.
â€Â˘ Experiment with angles, depth, and lenses.
â€Â˘ Be patient. It may take a hundred shots to make the perfect one.
â€Â˘ Carry a light load of equipment.
â€Â˘ The best light typically occurs at dawn or dusk.
â€Â˘ Use wide-angle lenses for close-ups to create perspective.
â€Â˘ Carry a compact, folding reflector to help illuminate objects. |

12-day trip for two to Machu Picchu and the Peruvian Amazon is the coolest prize.
This would be the place I would love to go shoot at, if I won the lottery or something. Got to have a DSLR for that shoot. |

Agreed. If I magically won that competition and won the trip to Machu Pichu, I would DEFENITELY buy a DSLR!
