I have the same CF card. I sure hope he gets that for it because then I am going to sell mine.

Or maybe his is special in some way, filled with drugs, government secrets, or maybe an original Da Vinci painted on the bottom. LOL

There seems to be a lot of these incredible auctions on eBay. Noticed an old Kodak/Nikon DCS 200 (1.5 mp) with a starting price of $1799!
These typically go for around $250 and that only because of the Nikon 8008S body.

Or maybe his mafia contact is going to buy it, 21st century money laundering on eBay...

it seems to have been taken down. Maybe it was the images on it that were worth all the money, not the card itself.

Proof of aliens?

It has a picture on it of where Jimmy Hoffa is buried.

I was thinking of buying a big CF card for my D70 (I´ve got 256 and 512) but the price is just too high, so I bought an Ipod with a memorycard reader, it also plays music and works as a hard drive.
My Ipod has a capacity of 40 gigabyte and can store more photos than I can take in a month.

But the really good thing is now I can shoot like a maniac and also store in NEF.

I believe there are people who post "spoof" auctions on eBay for the entertainment of their friends. About a year ago there was a thread about someone selling a computer which had been tossed out a fifth-story window or something.

FWIW, my local Sams club has some 256mb CF cards for $41. I don't remember what brand they are but I think they were Sandisk.
