"When I said during my presidential bid that I would only bring Christians and Jews into the government, I hit a firestorm. `What do you mean?' the media challenged me. `You're not going to bring atheists into the government? How dare you maintain that those who believe in the Judeo-Christian values are better qualified to govern America than Hindus and Muslims?' My simple answer is, `Yes, they are.'"
-from Pat Robertson's "The New World Order," page 218. |
So I take it then, that you feel that you would rather live under Muslim rule ( e.g. the Taliban, like they had in Afghanistan ) than live under Christian rule. True?
Originally posted by MadMordegon: "Just like what Nazi Germany did to the Jews, so liberal America is now doing to the evangelical Christians. It's no different. It is the same thing. It is happening all over again. It is the Democratic Congress, the liberal-based media and the homosexuals who want to destroy the Christians. Wholesale abuse and discrimination and the worst bigotry directed toward any group in America today. More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history."--Pat Robertson, 1993 interview with Molly Ivins |
What group or groups in America do you think is/are the target of more discrimination than Evangelical Christians? And not only supported by, but even proscribed by the government.
Originally posted by MadMordegon: "I think 'one man, one vote,' just unrestricted democracy, would not be wise. There needs to be some kind of protection for the minority which the white people represent now, a minority, and they need and have a right to demand a protection of their rights."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 3/18/92 |
Do you not think that the white minority should have a right to demand a protection of their rights?
Originally posted by MadMordegon: "The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians." -- Pat Robertson, fundraising letter, 1992 |
Do you really think that the feminist agenda is about equal rights for women? ( I do think that most of Pat's conclusions are a bit over the top - though I do agree that the feminist agenda is political and anti-family )
Originally posted by MadMordegon: (talking about Planned Parenthood) "It is teaching kids to fornicate, teaching people to have adultery, every kind of bestiality, homosexuality, lesbianism-everything that the Bible condemns."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 4/9/91 |
What do YOU think that Planned Parenthood is all about?
Originally posted by MadMordegon: "I know this is painful for the ladies to hear, but if you get married, you have accepted the headship of a man, your husband. Christ is the head of the household and the husband is the head of the wife, and that's the way it is, period."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 1/8/92 |
He claims to be an Evangelical Christian, speaking on a show that supports the Evangelical Christian agenda, and he is accurately paraphrasing what the Bible says. Do you have a problem with that?

Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by God because of their depravity. Jerry feels that God is punishing the U.S. for the same reason. I can see why he, as a Christian, might feel this way.

So let me summarize "your points" that "I" made:
1) You would rather live under Muslim rule than Christian rule.
2) You don't know of a single group that is the target of more discrimination than Evangelical Christians.
3) You don't think that the white minority should have a right to demand a protection of their rights.
4) You really think that the feminist agenda is about equal rights
5) You think that Planned Parenthood is really about pregnancy prevention, and pre-natal health counseling.
6) You have a problem with someone stating his opinions about a subject on a show that was paid for by a group that supports that opinion.
7) No one has the right to state his/her opinion based on his/her religious beliefs
8) No one has the right to believe that social depravity has unexpected consequences
9) A man/woman whose father/mother makes statements that we don't agree with should not be considered for any position of authority.
I thought so.

If he'd only be honest and preface his remarks with "You know, the Founding Fathers really got this wrong with this Constitution and no government religion and stuff ... I wish we could do away with all that and start over the the right people in charge ..."
If he said it while President, I'd say he'd violated his oath of office to faithfully uphold and execute the Constitution and carry out its provisions. Otherwise, I'd say he's exercising his First Amendment rights to call for the overthrow of the Federal Government, perhaps to be replaced with a less disingenuous version of the "one dollar/one vote" corporate oligarchy we currently enjoy.

(verse 3)
Turn around, go back down, back the way you came
Terror is on every side, Lo! the leaders are dismayed
Those who put their faith in fire, in fire their faith shall be repaid
O God, the pride of man, broken in the dust again
(verse 4)
Turn around, go back down, back the way you came
Shout a warning to the nations that the sword of God is raised
On Babylon*, that mighty city, rich in treasure, wide in fame
It shall cause thy tower to fall and make of the a pyre of flame
(coda)
O, thou that dwell on many waters
Rich in treasure, wide in fame
To bow unto a god of gold
Thy pride of might shall be thy shame
Oh, God, the pride of man broken in the dust again
And only God can lead the people back into the earth again
Thy holy mountain be restored
And mercy on thy people Lord!

WOW,
Alot of replys, sorry i didnt read all of them. This is just my opinion! Yes it is wrong to treat them this way! But ask anyone who has lost a Husbad, Wife, Daughter, Son, or any loved one who has fallen in the hands of terror, If they care if its wrong or right? If Sadam was still in controll of this prision, they would be dead or be reciving much worse! please forgive my spelling! Plus give the fact that these were Reservist who do not get the training that Active Duty gets every day! I cant belive ( Being a Active Duty Army Soldier myself) That the Soldiers in question were not told to do so by Higher Chain of Command! I belive the CIA was a big factor in this! This is just my opinion. And my bad grammer and spelling! Who is to say that these pictures are not Photoshopped? (LOL) Just my 2 cents. please dont take it personal...frankly im sick of hearing about all of this :) peace out |

1. America must stop supporting Israel and allow them to be destroyed.
2. America must withdraw all troops, close all military bases and relinquish all control of any civilian interests in the Muslim world.
3. America must acknowledge the divine right and inevitability of Muslims ruling the world.
4. America must surrender the concept of "separation of church and state".

Dramatic yes but is it true? Based on what I saw the Taliban doing in Afghanistan I truly believe that is their world vision for all of us.

<<< America must acknowledge the divine right and inevitability of Muslims ruling the Muslim world >>>
Please define the MUSLIM world. Also, please enumerate the rights of those residing in said 'muslim world' who are not muslims or who wish to de-convert from a religion that was 'given' to them not by their request but simply by accident of birth. |

Single mothers are prohibited from making statements about single motherhood in schools and colleges? Single mothers are called "extremists", "bonkers" and "delusional" in the press? Single mothers are denied the opportunities to form a group and meet in the same premises that other groups are permitted to meet in? Single mothers area discriminated against by government proscription? Single mothers have been the objects of derisive comments in DPChallenge fora?
Sorry, but I don't think so.

That's the Taliban, not the whole Islam faith. They are extremists. Do you think all Muslims are extremists? If so, then I guess you think all Christians are fanatics too. I'm sure certain factions of the Muslim faith think they are the "chosen" and everything has to be as prophesized by Mohammed. Some Christians believe in their heart of hearts that they are the chosen ones too - some in the Christian right probably even think everyone should convert to Christianity and that America should rule the world for all I know.
I do know, the more the west makes this a fight, a fight against Islam, the more alienated you make the entire Muslim world, even those who are not hardline.
