dropping like a rock! I had theories about challenges after my very first entry--I should have listened to myself. Dropped .5 already and the downward spiral has had no break since then.

I've been judging competitions for a long time and this was one of the best I've ever done. With respect to the posts about the low scores, I would be more than willing to take the issue up with the SC and have anything below a 4 or 5 thrown out as being mean spirited and an obvious attempt to lower a score with prejudice.
Congratulations to all of you - I was amazed, impressed and excited to be able to comment and rate these images - nothing seemed out of place or ill conceived.
Well, except for one which was an obvious attempt to gather a low score for what ever reason, but I refused to play along. :>)

Thanks for your post, Tom. Also, I appreciated your comment on mine, which I admit was very sub-standard for DPC, but an honest interpretation of the challenge guidelines. I promise, I will try harder next time :)) |

I keep waiting for the upswing. Textures went from a 5.2 to a 5.7, fauna went from a 6.1 to a 6.49. But it keeps going down, down, down. I had been guessing a 5.5

If it goes down much farther, I'll be hitting a pw. (I assume that since pb is personal best (or peanut butter) that pw is personal worst (or password?) My current pw I knew would be a pw. This one surprises me.

Look at it from the other direction. This is a member only challenge, so registered members cannot vote...but they can look. For the amount of views to vote ratio indicates an appealing thumb. My entry has over 300 views and 86 votes...so I think we all may be seeing the increase in views. This challenge is a colourful challenge...therefore, appealing to the viewers.

for the first time, the score has gone down 5.5...
I've given up on this challenge as soon as i saw the entries.. at least 3-4 entries were almost like mine... same wine a different bottle types... :)
