Floating pictures?
Every time I go to the hole page the top 3 photojouranlism pics are in a different place, often crowded in the upper left corner where the dp logo is. |

Just a minor thing... but when I visited the description of the Nikon D100 and clicked the "find lowest price" link, the DP Challenge frame of the page told me I was logged out. |

Thanks for the tip! It does work as advertised!
And great work on the Site! It really is much better, more responsive and just all around great features!!! Thanks for all your hard work! |
Ditto
I appreciate the new way of commenting but still will comment from full size images a lot and would like to be returned to my thumbnails not my own submission

All of the background area in the forums is black, making it hard to read any text except Username/Camera. If I select all the text, I can read it as white reversed out of blue (on top of the black). On this post page, the page background is black, but the text-entry field is white.

I will check with NetScape 4 when I get home from work. |

Congrats, guys!
Pointing out a possible bug. I checked my profile and saw the following:
challenges entered : 13
votes cast: 2897
votes received: 3516
I may be mistaken but don't think so but is it possible the # of votes cast and votes received are reversed? Whenever entering a challenge I did a 100% vote and also voted once or twice 100% before my first challenge. Could someone else check their voting stats and let me know?
The reverse on the forum page doesn't seem to do what i thought it would do. In fact, not sure what it is doing at all :) |

- the JavaScript menu doesn't work again with my Konqueror browser. I can resend the fix I sent you if you don't have my Email anymore
- don't know if that's supposed to be like that but I can see the results of a poll which seems to be for member only (it starts with "Non-members are currently...") on the Poll Archive Results page (//www.dpchallenge.com/poll_results.php)
- the "Automatically parse URLs" feature does not work when I put the URL in parenthesis. Example: see above ;-)

1) I have more votes received than cast, but I think that's because there's usually more valid votes cast than there are photos submitted. If there's 100 entries, you can cast at most 100 votes, but 150 people might vote for your picture.
2) I think it reverses the order of all the posts throughout the thread, but the numbering system is weird -- I think the last post becomes #1, etc. |

I tried voting on the 2nd poll ("Non-members are currently allowed to...") and it didn't take my vote - the Yes/No button becomes 'checked' but when I click on results, the graphics for the bars do not show up, so I don't know if it got my vote. Then if I go back to the Home page (by clicking in the menu at the top), the Yes/No vote buttons are both 'unchecked'. |

On the "My Preferences" page, when I change my birthdate and Save, it resets my birthdate to Dec 31, 1969 every time. That makes me only 32 instead of the 34 I really am. Now, some really good things have happened in these last two years that I would really hate to have undone :-)
By the way, AWESOME JOB WITH THE SITE, guys!

Are there any Mozilla users out there? Things are seriously wonky here in my browser. Forum post text appears as black text on black background! Also, the menu items in the top bar. Are those gone now or are they just not working for me? Can't seem to find a prefs link otherwise to play around there. I imagine Netscape 6 users are in the same boat. |

I had this problem for a while in AOL 6/PC, but it is now fixed. Preferences link is under the My Home menu, but I don't think it addresses display prefs to that degree.
I suggest you reconnect a couple of times and clear your browser cache and see if that fixes it. Otherwise, you can read the posts by selecting te text, it's just a pain for a while... |

Yes, try clearing your cache and let us know what becomes of it. Specifically, anyone seeing the site with a white background needs to clear their cache -- sorry about that.
Manic was testing the site all along with Mozilla, so I'm pretty confident the site works well in Mozilla. NS6 works very well, too. The only browser that gets hosed is NS4.x... but there's just got to be a point where you realize some browsers suck and aren't worth making concessions for. Mozilla certainly wasn't one of those browsers :)

No big deal, just a stupid little typo error I noticed while reading the new Challenge Rules. Thought you might want to know about it.
Under "Image Submission Format" it says, "Photographs must be follow these standards for submission:" and it probably should read "Photographs must follow these standards for submission:" or "Photographs must be within these standards for submission:" |

General E, yep, you're right on the votes cast.
The reverse feature works fine; just had to get used to it.
Now, who's eating my cookies? Need to log in each time I show up. |

OK, no more borked-up black on black text. I did a forced-reload on the page and it fixed it. I'm guessing it was using the old style sheet. It may be a browser bug, not checking style sheets to see if they have been modified. |

I think I've seen this, too... but I can assure you that while we were testing/developing the site for ~3 months, they worked. I'll be on the lookout for a pattern. Try deleting your cookie and closing your browser to get rid of any residual cookies from the old site maybe?

I think the cookie problem has to do with it setting an expire time that's not long enough. I have cookies USRNAME and PASSWORD that expire in 2010, probably from the old site. I now have cookies USERNAME, PASSHASH, HASH, EXPIRE and others with expire times not too long from when they are set. |

OK, I cleared all cookies then re-logged in. The expire times are now 1 year. |

You have rated 246 of 245 images in this challenge.
I think that must be backwards. :0]

Thought you folks should know about the bug I found....My B-Day is 2/10/69....when I put that in on the Profile page and hit submit....my B-Day shows as 12/31/02....thought you might want this information.
Otherwise....this labor of love of yours is outstanding. Hope to become a member within the next few days. I am gonna wait till you work the small kinks out.
