Sarah and Toby. Wed june 20/09

It poured all day! 2.5hr boat cruise around the area and didn't even enjoy it. It stopped raining long enough to get some formals and these shots on the dock.

Very nice, Leo. I like the pop and colour of the bride and groom against the muted background colours.

For those wondering, Not a lot of PS done here. Lit with(you guessed it) one speedlight off camera mounted on a monopod. Monopod held by an assistant.
THe day was a gloomy day which helped with the mood. Really the shots aren't much different than the originals.

I have been reading Joe McNally's Hot Shoe Diaries. Looks like something he may do. Really looks nice! Any attachments on the flash (difusers or reflectors)? He might have tossed in a warming filter on the flash. I haven't had the chance to practice any of what he does.

What did you use for lighting and how was it set up? What were your camera settings?

Lighting was just one 580 exII speedlight on a monopod. Had my asst hold the monopod high and pointed down towards the subject.
Settings- point your camera towards the sky to get your settings. Then adjust so it is underexposed by 1 stop. Now adjust your speedlite in manual mode to expose your subject properly. I think in this case the speedlite was at 1/4 +0.7 power
