Lost a Friend Today

Daisy, our golden retriever, lost her battle with stomach cancer this morning. She'd had a rough last month - not able to eat without assistance but not in any real pain. Finally this moring when she could not keep anything down and was vomiting blood, we decided it was time to put her down. She was Lil Mollie's best buddy in my week 2 post in January. This shot was taken at about the same time. She was a good-hearted dog and we all miss her greatly. Our other two dogs, Lil Mollie and Bailey the Big Black Dog (both black labs) keep going to look for her at the door, sure that she will be there and ready to come back in the next time..

So sorry about your loss of Daisy. It is always so sad to lose a beloved pet. The photo of her is lovely. |

sorry for your loss its always hard to say farewell but i am sure that Our Rainier  will take good care of Daisy in doggie heaven

Food 22 - Rhubarb pie

I had the pleasure of photographing Sofia AKA:  scootermcnutty, for her senior portraits. Smardaz, came down with his wife and we had a lot of fun together. Thanks so much for a great day, and sleepover. :O) This is week 22 of Portrait a Week.

Orange County, Indiana Courthouse in Paoli, Indiana (my home town). Built in 1850, it is still in use after more than 150 years.

Dogwood blossum in Lost Vallley, an offshoot of the Boxley Valley near Ponca Arkansas. (Didn't notice the little interloper peeking over the top when shooting)

Found a small cluster of this bright red wildflower known as Fire Pink along the Buffalo River Trail between Ponca, Arkansas and the Steel Creek campground (looks more like it should have been called Fire Scarlet)
