Icy Stream - Buffalo River Trail

It been too hot (95-105) here for the past month to get out and take pictures in the Buffalo River Valley. So, I went back through some shots from January and found this "cool" shot.

It's a lovely shot, and I can understand it making you feel cooler. I'm cold enough already (still winter where I live) and I'd appreciate seeing some of your 100+ heat. However when my turn comes I'll be complaining about it.

Entered four photos from this series in the Washington County (Arkansas) Fair Photography competition. Won't take up space by reposting but will refer to page where original posts can be found.

Week 10 Post (on page 17 of POTW) - Second Place in Wildlife Category

Week 17 Post (on page 26 of POTW) - second place in Portrait Category

Week 26 Post (on page 30 of POTW) - second place in Flower Category

Week 30 Post (on page 31 of POTW) - FIRST PLACE in Landscape Category

Didn't think that was too bad a showing for a relative novice.

The gravestones of my great, great grandfather (top) and great grandfather (bottom)are several rows apart in the Methodist Cemetary at Riddle, Indiana. Notice anything unusual?

Week 28 B&W

This one really tanked in the free study, even though it turned out just how I wanted it. Either I've lost the ability to take a good photograph, or finally found my style. Or maybe a combination of the two.

Oh my goodness. What a time that would have been for your great great grandmother, poor lady. I wonder what brought about her husband's death? Civil War related? At least his son had a long life.

Related to Civil War in a way. A few weeks before his death, he was helping to unload corpses of local soldiers who had died in the Civil War from a train. According to the family, he became ill the next day and never had another healthy day.
