Early Morning for Rising from Buffalo River - Upstream from Ponca, Arkansas Bridge

Early morning view of Buffalo River looking upstream from low-water bridge at Ponca, Arkansas. Taken early September 2010 when water level was very low due to about 6 weeks with virtually no rain. Early morning fog rising from river. Purposely underexposed to give an eerie feeling - reminded me of Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" - not sure I would want to know what's around the bend

my puter got some virus and as i had to reformat i thought i had saved some of the HDR i was working on but alas i was wrong grrrrrrrrrrrrr
i will be catching up soon

What a wonderfully moody and atmospheric shot! I agree that that bend seems to promote a sense of unease.

i lost a series from a buddhist temple that i shot

I'm very impressed with you guys who are keeping up with the photo-a-week. I became too stressed out about my goal (which was to post on a different location in my county every week). I did enjoy writing the blog but after getting a few weeks behind I'm sad to say I gave up.

I recently decided to renew my blog but not commit to posting each week.

So, for those of you that did look at my blog back at the beginning of the year and are interested in keeping up (as I am many of you) please feel free to peek every once in a while. :o)

Here is the last photo I will post in this thread, since I can't keep up. Maybe next year I'll start over with a much easier goal.

I was actually thinking about you tonight! My husband & I just finished making a pork dinner (to be named) and I took a hundred pictures of the process so we can make a new blog entry. I really need to get some tips from you. I think I do a decent job but I really like your style. After I play with these pictures I'll contact you. :o)
