I wonder if that support includes lens correction (á la Capture One)... |

I'll let you know when I install the upgrade. Ordered it this morning.
I'm interested more for storage and archiving. It will store them in Aperture 2, but you can't preview or edit them. I have to maintain my Lumix images separately from my Canon images. Different maintenance, workflow, editing, etc. At least that part will be addressed with the upgrade. |

Looks like a decent update. I will be downloading the trial soon. Hopefully they have added mRAW and sRAW support for my beloved 50D.
I'm still kind of stunned that they did not include support in aperture 2. |

I'll be purchasing my upgrade in the next day or two. So Long Lightroom 3 Beta! |

I had just about given up on Aperture, but now I can jump back into my own personal workflow debate. As much as I loved the workflow in Aperture 2, I liked the RAW processing from Capture One better and ended up with workflow split between the two and terribly inefficient. Now I'll get to revisit the entire entire debate again.
I'll be very curious to here what the other Aperture users think of the update?

I see that it now handles video too. If I shoot video with my SLR and then use Aperture 3 to 'grab' a jpeg from the footage and edit it - can I submit it in a challenge if the video was shot during the week? Technically the image is created with a camera that records EXIF data... though I'm not sure whether an image so created will have EXIF data attached.

Capture One costs more than Aperture. I doubt Aperture will surpass it.
What I'd like to see is the ability to use other RAW utilities like Capture One as plugins to Aperture or Lightroom. |

I've been waiting/hoping for this! Optimized to work with dual core and Snow Leopard, plus a ton of new and useful features (and improvements to some of the previously "almost right" features) |

Lord, I hope not. There was another thread a while back talking about that. |

I hope not too - though I might be more keen the next time I try to shoot a water drop ;-) |

or a hummingbird, or a bee, or a humming bird and a bee, . . .
Just setup the camera and point it at something and let the video run until you run out of space on the memory card. |

Typical still-photography snobbery... same settings, lesser quality, no big deal. :-) |

I've just installed the trial but I'm unable to import my current Aperture 2 library. Anyone tried that yet? |

You're welcome to start a DV Challenge site. ;-)

Apple software update just kicked in with an update for iLife Support and Camera RAW.
Usually the Camera RAW is used for both iPhoto and Aperture.
The support for the Lumix/Leica RAW works for iPhoto '09 and Aperture 3
Same for Canon sRAW and mRAW |

I couldn't open and convert my existing aperture library, but I was able to import it into the trial library. Without even thinking, I crabbed a copy of a wedding with about 1700 images and said I wanted to reprocess all RAW images. I'm hoping the conversion is done by the time I wake up tomorrow :-)

Just seen that it now supports merging and syncing of libraries - I'm often editing on my MB Pro when I am away so to be able merge work on that at my Mac Pro later is a deal maker for me. |

Installed on my Mac Pro and MacBook without issue.
Playing around with the new features. Imported all my Lumix LX3 RAW files!!!!!
Looks like a worthy upgrade so far. |

You won't be able to import your A2 library into A3 in "trial" mode. If you purchase A3, you can open your A2 library. To import your A2 library, it will take a while. Mine took a couple of hours. It will depend on how many photos you have in your library. Good luck. :) |
