Hi Woodie,
I remember reading about batteries running flat on S7000 when using CF cards. Unfortunately I cannot remember where I did, a little search on the web will do. Try S5000.com or DPReview Fuji forum for a start.
I think Fuji is fixing the issue for free. Maybe Fuji tech support could help.
In the meantime there is an easy way to test: remove the CF card when not using the camera and check the battery level.

Hi Woodie, I've read you should'nt leave batteries in your camera for any extended unused time, nor should you leave you nimh batteries fully charged for too long without using them or they won't hold a charge .I can't remember the site but try searching battery reviews , they have different reviews on different brands and mah batteries.
Hope this helps |

ok, here is what is going on, I have that camera, and the same thing happened to me, it is your flash card, there is a flaw in the design of the camera, when you use a flash card, the camera keeps power to the card all the time even when the camera is switched off. This is not an issue with the xd card, and I switched to it. You have 2 options switch to the xd card, or take your flash card out when done shooting. |

I don't have a Fuji camera, but I've found with both my Olympus and my Canon A80 that NiMH batteries stored outside the camera sometimes go flat before I have a chance to use them. I have the impression that they seem to hold their charge better inside the camera, but maybe that's just my imagination.

Here is one example of a search on Battery and charger Rewiews.

Isn't that Fuji still under warranty Woodie? Have you asked Fuji technical support about your problem? |
