I'd go the the Flashpoint II M series from Adoroma. Start with one head... and work your way up.
//www.adorama.com/FP320M.html - 160 w/s head.

Accessories include a DC powerpack.

Just remember that you get what you pay for. I started out with an inexpensive Opus lighting kit, but very quickly outgrew it. I switched to AlienBees 800w strobes, plus a bunch of periphery equipment. It's much more suitable.

For outside shoots, you need portable power. Here are AlienBees' portable power kits.

Hey all,

I need a little bit of advice on studio lighting kits I'm considering buying.

I have unearthed these deals:

//www.jessops.com/online.store/products/74367/show.html

//www.cgi.ebay.co.uk/ELEMENTAL-FUGL-E-STUDIO-3-Portable-Flash-LIGHTING-KIT-/300457840281

And then there's all these ones....

I'm quite confused!

Are these 'good' deals? Which one would you go for?

Also, how do you power them on an outside shoot?

Many thanks!

:)
